This policy explains exactly what happens to your face photo when you use the Ascend face scan, how long anything is kept, and when it is destroyed. It applies to Ascend (“Ascend”).
When you choose to scan, you upload a photo of your face. It is sent to our AI provider, which analyzes facial features such as proportions, skin, symmetry and the eye area, for one purpose only: to produce your rating, tier and improvement plan. We don't use photos to identify you, recognize you across photos, or for any other purpose.
We never sell, lease, trade or share face photos or face data, and never use them for advertising.
Before every scan, you agree to this, in these words (version 2026-10-13):
I consent to Ascend sending this photo to its AI provider to analyze my facial features (such as proportions, skin, symmetry and eye area) to produce my rating and plan. The photo is used only for this scan and is discarded right after the analysis; it is never stored, sold or shared. Only the written results are kept, until I delete them.
We keep a record of when you agreed and to which version, as proof of consent. It's deleted with your account.
The face scan isn't offered to residents of Illinois, Texas or Washington. Purchases with a billing address in those states are refunded automatically. The rest of Ascend (forum, guides, tools, Coach) is available everywhere.
Delete any scan, or your whole account, from your account page at any time. See also our Privacy Policy.
